Venom Control Systems

Company Background

Venom Control systems was formed in 2018, to carry forward the products and services developed at Micro-Robotics Ltd.  Micro-Robotics began in 1986, quickly becoming a pioneer in the embedded control systems market.

We have over 30 years experience in the design and manufacture of embedded systems for industrial control and instrumentation.  In that time our hardware and software expertise has been used in hundreds of different applications.

VCS is run by engineers, for engineers and this is reflected in our company philosophy (see ‘Our Philosophy’ panel).

Capability

VCS specialise in the design and supply of embedded control systems to industry.

We provide a development process that starts with fast turnaround and low investment and moves to the required volume of production once design and market are proven.

To this end we produce a range of general-purpose single board microcontrollers that are well suited to fast development cycles in small and medium scale manufacture.

Additionally, our Design Service people can take customer projects from prototype design to high volume production. We can build one-off systems or production runs of many thousands.

Our Philosophy

  1. We go out of our way to provide excellent, personal technical support.

Our typical customer knows a lot about their own business but is not an expert in electronics or software. We understand that solving your problems quickly and efficiently works for both of us.

  2. All of our products are designed to work together.

With other vendors you usually have to build up a control system from parts designed and supported by different companies (e.g. the hardware, the operating system and the programming language). This means that it is often hard to get support for your exact problem.

  3. Our products were designed for use in industrial control systems from the outset.

Most single board microcontrollers were developed for the hobby market and are not suitable for industrial control systems.

  4. Our main programming language, Venom, is both simple and powerful.

Other languages tend to either require you get a lot of things right before your first program will run, or are so limited that you can’t solve large real-world problems.

Our engineering team will be happy to discuss your project.
